Please refer to our stock # J050 when inquiring.
sold, with thanks!
A young girl in traditional robes stands in the garden among autumn foliage, a breath of spring in the closing of the year. The background is all muted, allowing the boldness of the colors of her robes, flesh and hair to stand out. Expertly rendered, the scroll is 2 by 6 feet (63 x 183 cm) and is in excellent condition, completely remounted in pale patterned silk. This is the work of Osaka female artist Tominaga Gyokuun, a painter studied in the Shijo school of painting under Okamoto Koen and well remembered for her human imagery. The influence of Okamoto Koen can be seen in the facial expression of the young woman.
