A large Takaoka Bronze vase decorated with silver damascene between chased key frets by Takano Shizan (Ryoichi). It is in excellent condition, It is 26 cm (10-1/2 inches) tall, 27 cm (10-3/4 inches) diameter and in excellent condition, enclosed in a custom made wooden box. It is signed on the base in a silver cartouche. Shizan was the art name of Takano Ryoichi (b. 1907), a bronze artist active throughout the Showa era, who won several prizes at National venues.
