Ghost Sago Bamboo Carving
Please refer to our stock # MOR7886 when inquiring.
Sold, with thanks!
An amazing bamboo Sago tea scoop engraved with a ghost floating among autumn grasses with a bedraggled lantern, mostly bones carved deeply into the hard surface signed Tokoku. The billowing of the tattered robes, the deep hollow bones of the torn lantern, the veins and musculature on the emaciated limbs, the autumn grasses, the bulging eyes and straggly unkempt hair…incredible detail on bamboo, a notoriously difficult carving surface. It is 20 x 5,5 cm (8 x 2 inches) and is in excellent condition.
