3 Antique Japanese Mingei Dishes, 19th Century

Two mingei Andon-zara oil plates and a shallow katakuchi bowl from Seto area kilns dating from the 19th century. The flat plates are used for catching oil drips in a lantern, each decorated with a bucolic scene, The Katakuchi is iron glazed outside with a sometsuke lakeside scene on crackled pale glaze within. Roughly 8 inches (20 cm) diameter each. Minor chips and stains typical of age and use.
