A pair of silvered bronze carp swim languidly alongside each other, or pass each other unperturbed in the torpid waters, the positioning is up to the viewer as they are placed freely on a large black lacquered stand. They come in the original age darkened wooden box signed by the artist Tansho, each wrapped in silk and nestled on its own tier. The larger fish is 11-1/2 inches (29 cm) long, the smaller 22.5 cm (9 inches) and both are in excellent condition, signed between their forward fins.
