| A set of three uncarved solid lacquer stamps dating from the early 20th century enclosed in a period wooden box from the estate of a Kyoto family involved in literati and art movements from the later Edo period on. The stamps are cur from solid blocks of layered lacquer, ground and polished. They are roughly 2-1/2 inches (6 cm) long) and in new condition. The box is roughly 5 x 2-1/2 x 3 inches (12 x 6 x 8 cm). To have a set like this made today would be in the thousands of dollars. | ||||||||||
