Edo p. Japanese Tatami Yoroi Armor
Black lacquer laced with white leather makes for a striking presentation om this all matching collapsible armor dating from the Edo period. The helmet is a chochin kabuto with original locking bar. It features a hanpo mask and Do of rectangular plates with a belt of Kusazuri hanging from loops at the waist. The Shino chain mail of tight linked chain and splints is all matching on blue patterned hemp. Overall this set is very clean. The Maedate is later, and there has been a repair to the cloth and mail on two of the rows of Kusazuri.
