| A large Edo Mingei image of Amidha Buddha on a square base, the sublime countenance at once calming and elegant. The image was once gilded in gold, but has lost most of this over the centuries. It has also lost both feet and both hands. The Base is not original to the image, but was likely taken from an Ihai based on the shape. All of this is only testament to the great age of the piece. It is 18-1/2 inches (47 cm) tall. | |||||||||||||||
