Secret Antique Japanese signed Kiseru Pipe-case Knife
A very unusual and incredibly well made pipe case with attached tobacco pouch concealing a hidden sheath in which is held a heavy and deadly short knife. Both the pipe case itself, and the blade of the knife are signed. The black lacquered pipe case is signed Shitsu-Ryo Saku (also Urushi Akira Saku, the first character meaning lacquer). The Blade is signed Okitada (also read Kosho/Kyosho or Kosei/Kyosei). The blade is hand forged, antique steel in excellent condition. By removing the ordinary sleeve which would contain the pipe, the handle to the weapon is revealed. The blade is 5-7/8 inches (14.8 cm) long. Attached to the pipe case is a pouch of what appears to be some type of lizard skin, fastened with an ivory Ojime in the shape of a boy. The clasp is a large mounted warrior in silver and gold galloping, robes billowing, across the front of the tobacco pouch.
