Antique Japanese Wood Noh Mask, Stunning Hannya
An antique Hannya Noh Men mask depicting the twisted spirit of a jealous woman. The combination of anger and sorrow, mixed with madness makes this mask a spectacular one. The image is a Ko-Hannya (ancient spirit), and would be used in the play Aoinoue, Dojoji and Kurozuka. It measures 8-1/4 inches (21 cm) by 6-3/8 inches (16.5 cm) and is in fine condition but for one chip in the tip of its horn.
