RARE ANTIQUE Korean KNIFE w/ SHARKSKIN SHEATH
Two long bone chopsticks accompany this Korean Jangdo knife (Jap. Shoto) from the Joseon period (19th century); both knife and chopsticks enclosed in a metal bound sheath covered in black lacquered sharkskin and embellished with bone. The knife is 13-1/2 inches (34 cm) long and has a riveted wooden handle, and the chopsticks are 11 inches (28 cm) long, each piece fitting into its own compartment in the wooden scabbard. Fine condition. For similar pieces see the collection of the Koryo Museum. This piece was found in Japan, and would make an interesting addition to a collection of swords or weaponry.
