FINE EDO p. Japanese ORIBE CHAWAN TEA BOWL
An impressive Edo period (1615-1868) Oribe Wan-gata Chawan, the sandy clay covered in creamy crackly glaze, a dab of pitted green on one edge, and striking geometric designs burning through in iron. The bowl, which comes in an ancient cloth bag enclosed in an old wooden box, measures 5 inches (12.5 cm) in diameter, 3 inches (8 cm) to the rim. In this case, the pictures can say much more than I, and I will leave it at there is no damage.
