Quail in Autumn Reeds, Two Panel Silk Screen by Koun
Please refer to our stock # ANR7005 when inquiring.
A timeless scene especially poignant in this season, quail peck for seeds under the shelter of low lying sasa bamboo yellowing with the onset of cold. Signed Koun, it is performed with pigment on silk and has been completely remounted using antique border cloth and a black lacquered wooden frame emulating the original, without any over-painting. An excellent size for wall hanging; the screen is 51 x 64-1/2 inches (129 x 164 cm) and is in excellent condition, dating from the Taisho to early Showa eras.
