Antique Japanese Lacquer Pipe Case decorated with Skull
Please refer to our stock # MOR6999 when inquiring.
A skull in raised powdered silver maki-e lies abandoned upon a fallen grave marker at the bottom of this Meiji period lacquered sagemono kiseruzutsu pipe case. It is about 24 cm (9 inches) long and in fine condition. Sliding it open reveals an explicit image of two persons coupling. Perhaps a reminder to the owner of the impermanence of life; get it while you can? It contains a period reed and metal pipe.
