Please refer to our stock # MOR6962 when inquiring.
Four Edo period Votive placks offered as talismans to shrines to garner favor from the gods. These miniature placks can still be seen today at shrines throughout the country, hanging from tree branches or special palisades made especially for their display. Two of these feature a woman praying, one a pair of ogres, the last a holy horse.
Mineral pigment on wood, the central panels measure roughly 17 to 20 cm wide (6-1/2 to 8 inches) each.
