A very unusual set of stacking cups by Imperial Artisan Seifu Yohei and Tea Craftsman Nakagawa Joeki enclosed in the original signed wooden box signed by both artist. Seifu has created three unique works in completely different styles, Kinsai on red with auspicious figures in gold, bamboo in relief covered in celadon, and under-glaze blue designs of clouds. To this Joeki has added a liner of hand formed metal in the naban-Uchibari style. The largest is 13.5 cm (5-1/4 inches) diameter and all three are in excellent condition. Originally probably a set of five stacking cups.
