| A 19th Century (Meiji period) ceramic Bunchin (weight used when writing Shodo calligraphy) in the form of a crane in repose, the heavy clay covered in white glaze with black accentuating the tail and beak, and a faded dash of brick red on top of its head. Underneath is a raised seal that appears to read Mi. A Y-shaped crack visible on the back does not go through or damage the integrity of the piece. The black and red glazes have been well worn. It measures 4-1/4 by 3-1/4 by 2 inches tall (11 x 8 x 5 cm tall). | |||||||||
