The character Wa (harmony) is splashed across the front of this large celadon plate from the studio of Living National Treasure Tsukamoto Kaiji with slip calligraphic design by former Abbot of Tenryuji Temple Seki Bokuo enclosed in the original signed wooden box. A Flask shaped vase decorated with a Shishi (Mythical Lion Creature) in a rugged landscape by multi talented artist Domoto Insho enclosed in the original signed wooden box. A rare colorful vessel by Miyagawa Kozan II decorated with overglaze enamel butterflies flitting among sometsuke blue and Yu-kasai flora, young bamboo bursting toward the rim on one side. The use of overglaze enamels is exceptional, the winged creatures each uniquely decorated with minute attention to detail. A large Sometsuke Porcelain bowl by Miyanaga Tozan enclosed in an antique wooden box titled Yoraku Mon O-Hachi. The bowl s beautifully executed with crisp blue hanging draperies on sheer white, the body thin and elegant showing the mastery of the potter. It is stamped inside the foot-ring. A large and rare Ninsei style pottery Koro by Miyanaga (Makuzu) Kozan I enclosed in the original signed wooden box bearing the Teishitsu Gigei-In stamp. The pierce work spherical body of stylized clouds is surmounted by a colorful phoenix, its tail feathers falling and wrapping about the body.
