25 photographic postcards depicting beauties of the Taisho to early Showa Era, 1915-1930, including actresses and the young former empress of Japan. Very much in the flavor of the roaring 20s, hairstyles and clothing reflect that time of affluence. Each measures 14 x 9 cm Carte Postale size. All are unused, however on the back of several are written the names of the persons depicted, Takashima Aiko, Umemura Haruko, etc. Several are embossed with the studio mark of a K inside a triangle.

From the Mizuguchi collection; a large bronze figure of Noh performer Nomura Tokuan (Tokushichi II) performing the part of Antaku. The bronze was made for the Kyoto Shijo Branch of Daimaru Department Store, and is dated 1941. The figure is 13-1/2 x 7 x 8 inches (35 x 18 x 21 cm) and is in fine condition, enclosed in the original wooden box...

A pair of stylized Bronze Inari Shrine guardians dating circa 1930 giving a distinct Art Deco feel. They are 15 inches (38 cm) tall, 10-1/2 x 6 inches (27 x 15.5 cm) at the base and in superb condition. A hole in the base attests to where they were once attached to a further pedestal.

A murashi-do Bronze tray decorated with the incarnations of four gods by Katori Masahiko enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The tray is 25.5 x 13.5 cm (10 x 5 inches) and in fine condition. This is a beautiful cast of thick, quality bronze, as we should expect from a Living National Treasure.
The image of the four incarnations is taken from the stand of the main image in Yakushiji Temple (National Treasure) which emulates those of Kiyohara Shrine in Nara...

An incredible flambé style yellow and orange flowing glaze in the style of Takatori Kin-yu covers the white clay of this set of Banko Hibachi dating from the first half of the 20th century by Kuroda Mitsuraku. These guys have attitude! A massive wooden carving of two frogs taken from a dark burl of hardwood, likely chestnut, showing beautiful grain in the smooth sections, almost appearing wet, with the rough natural texture of the wood elsewhere giving a true sense of the Ibo-gaeru toad. They are expertly rendered with stoic expressions. Both are quite muscular, the top character poised as if he is about to leap. The carving is 40 x 63 x 47 cm (16 x 24 x 19-1/2 inches) and weighs 22 kg (48 pounds)...
