A cricket rides atop the pirced lid of this fine art-deco influenced form enclosed in a wooden box titled Wa-gusa ni Mushi Koro (Incese burner with insect in Japanese plants) and signed within Naoto-saku. A large wood carving of a baby frog riding on back of its parent signed on the base Yuko (Hiromitsu). Fantastic expressions. It is roughly 10 x 12 x 13 inches (24 x 30 x 33 cm). Two toes have been re-attached, and there are some minor dings, one above the child frogs right eye, one beside the nostrils of the parent frog.
