Robert has been working with disaster relief group IDRO Japan in the earthquake affected areas of Kumamoto, and this has caused some delays in listing, messaging and shipping. An abstract oil painting by Fujinami Akira dated 1961 in very thick hues of yellow brown and green on canvas. It is signed Akira Fouji ’61, and on back is the artists full name and date in Japanese. The canvas comes mounted in a recycled period wooden frame. The canvas is 45.5 x 38 cm (18 x 15 inches) the frame is 65 x 58 x 7.5 cm (25-1/2 x 23 x 3 inches).

14 images spanning two pages each are sandwiched between the silk binding of this two sided accordion album by Zen Priest Inaba Shinden enclosed in the original storage sleeve. The images span from Mount fuji to the Daruma to Zen Circles, each annotated with some verse or Buddhist anecdote. A crab crawls out from between the folds of crackled glaze on this large Rakuzan Yaki vase enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 22 cm (9 inches) tall, 21 cm (8 inches) diameter and in excellent condtion. Legend holds that Matsudaira Sadanaga, lord of Matsuyama Castle, created the first Rakuzan-yaki decorated with its ubiquitous water crab in his garden kiln (Niwa-yaki) in the early 19th century. This Rakuzan-yaki is not to be confused with the Rakuzan yaki from Matsue.

A 1989 Oil by Nakamura Yoshitatne exhibited at the Kyoten (Kyoto Bijutsu Tenrankai) and retaining the exhibition label titled Yukibuki Yamamura (Keihoku) (A Snow Covered Village in Northern Kyoto).
