Robert has been working with disaster relief group IDRO Japan in the earthquake affected areas of Kumamoto, and this has caused some delays in listing, messaging and shipping. A pair of hollowed and lacquered coconut shells enclosed with a folding fan in a box decorated by Shimizu Hian. The gold and silver sides of the black lacquered fan are also decorated with calligraphy by this eccentric scholar artist. An early 20th century boxed set of Sometsuke Sencha tea implements decorated with calligraphy and suiseki stones in cobalt on white. It consists of five tea cups, a cooling pot, tea pot and lid. Each piece is individually signed and decorated with a unique image. A dragon rides in a swirl of movement atop this silver and damascened Koro incense burner by Chosa Yoshiyuki. The sides are decorated with images of plum and pine.
