A dark bronze trumpeting vase decorated with silver beading in a dusty belt designed by Kanamori Eichi (1908-2001) enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The vase is 10 inches (25.5 cm) tall, 6-1/2 inches (16 cm) diameter at the mouth and in excellent condition. Eichi was born in Takaoka, one of Japans most important bronze enclaves in Toyama prefecture at the tail end of the Meiji period. A bell shaped hand formed (not cast) bronze vase by Yamaguchi Kenzo enclosed in the original signed wooden box. Large lug handles are riveted on top, with brass covers on the edge of the rectangular rim and two circular holes in the side, the shape reminiscent of very early Japanese Bronze age bells. All sides are etched with geometric designs of ancient raw power, creating a vibrant sense of static energy waiting release with a strike.
