The Japanese have always held works of art from the continent in high esteem, as evidenced by this fine early Joseon pot found here in the ancient capitol of Japan. The pot is covered in a thin green glaze burnt olive on one side over thick reddish clay the body roughly cast with a finely developed neck and mouth. It is 9 inches (23 cm) tall, 6-1/2 inches (16.5 cm) diameter and in excellent condition, dating from between 400 and 600 years old placing it contemporary with the Japanese Muromachi ...click for details
