A fierce, Middle-Edo Period Kyogen Mask with brass ringed eyes enclosed in an antique black lacquered wooden box. The front is covered in burnished white gofun, with painted beard and moustache. The back is raw, age blackened wood. It is roughly 8-1/2 inches (21.5 cm) tall. There are some stable cracks in the gofun not at all surprising for the age, otherwise in fine condition..
