Hairy fresh water crabs scuttle this way and that about a bundle of lotus on this large hand painted silk Fukusa by Shige Shunto. Above and to the left it is signed Shunto, and in the lower right is stamped Chikushun. It is 22-1/2 x 24-1/2 inches (57 x 62 cm) and is in overall fine condition. It came from the same house as several of the other Fukusa we are listing, and bears the crest of the Ii clan on the back in white on black and features gold couched thread tassels on the corners...

A large Fukusa silk cloth hand painted in ink with turtles by Suzuki Hyakunen and a verse by Ema Tenko. Gold tassels decorate the corners and it is backed with verdant green bearing the crest of the Ii clan. It is 28-1/2 x 25-1/2 inches (72.5 x 65 cm) and is in overall fine condition.

A rake and broom under and ancient pine in gold couched thread represent lifelong marital bliss and longevity on the blue silk field of this antique Fukusa backed with vermillion silk crepe. It is roughly 26 x 24 inches (67 x 60 cm) and is in fine condition but for a square stain on back where it was folded, and a missing tassel.

An incredible amount of work went into this amazing neko-tora tiger made of thousands of stitches of couched silver thread. It is enclosed in a wooden box frame covered with glass dating from the Meiji period. The frame is 48.5 x 70 x 6.5 cm (19 x 27-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches) and is in fine condition.
