Villains and travelers, Goblins and Priests, Various tales play out in 3 dimensions around the trunk and among the leafy branches of a massive tree forming the core and backdrop of this amazing 19th century altar bell stand. The piece is 6 inches (15.5 cm) tall, the same diameter. It comes enclosed in an old wooden box. This matches the Maezukue Altar table previously listed. One of the most elaborate I have ever seen.

A very elaborate altar table with poly-chromed and gilded diorama of sages traveling in a mythical forested landscape. 19th century. 66 x 18 x 24 cm (26 x 7 x 9-1/2 inches) enclosed in an age darkened custom wood box. This matches the Bell stand to be listed following. One of the most elaborate I have ever seen. The prices is shipping inclusive where mail size restriction do not prohibit.

An antique Buddhist altar table of open design with scrolling legs set into a diapered base, all black lacquered and gilded with genuine gold on front and sides. It is 13 x 29 x 13 inches (34 x 73 x 34 cm) and in overall fine condition with chips and mionor repairs typical of age. This is not from a home shrine, but from a Buddhist Temple. A serene expression emenates from this late Edo period Standing Amiddha Bosatsu figure complete with original gilded wood base. Much incense soot encrustation acquired over time. We have cleaned it to some extent, maintaining a sense of age. It is 65 cm tall including the stand and back, the image itself 33 cm tall. It is missing two fingers on the right hand, and the left hand entirely. A hand can be made at additional cost if desired...

The Flaming Jewel, symbol of knowledge and understanding, stands on this large Lotus-shaped pedestal dating from the 19th century. Gilded on the front, black laquer on back, the ball rests on a lotus pedestal covered in red and black lacquer, with applied gold.
