A 19th century oblong ovoid from the Koto Kiln (Japanese reading) in China, stamped on the base Kuzumeisho-sei. Guaranteed genuine of course. These were brought to Japan in large numbers from the 18th century, when two brothers Kuzumeisho and Kuzugensho succeeded and expanded the family kiln in China. The Namako (Sea Slug) glaze is very typical of their style. This vase is large at 12 inches (30 cm) tall with a fine elegant form.
